This is a middle eastern dessert called Tapauch Ets Im Mits Tapuzim which means apples in orange juice. And, that is exactly what it is only we simmered it with golden raisins until the apples were tender.

I love cooking in orange juice. This looks delightful.
Here's one of my favourites: take some ruhbarb stems, wash and cut into 1cm pieces then cook it in a little orange juice with a little sugar or sweetener or honey added at the end. It comes out very very nice and can be combined with apples.
