So, my journal has the full story of what happened but I'll type up the short version.
Last night my family lost our dear friend and companion for 11 years, our wonderful golden retriever -- Bruno.
He passed away last night after his body suddenly gave out on him. We were trying to get him to the vet actually as he suddenly was in a lot of pain, we were planning on putting him down, but he passed away on the way there.
He lived a good life though. His favorite things in the world were fireworks, squirrels, and any sort of light reflecting off of windows, or from a laser pointer. Yes, we had a dog that chased a laser pointer!
All I can say now is rest in peace buddy, you will be missed.
I'm going to post a couple more pictures of him that I have tonight as well.

Thanks. I'll be fine, but it was definitely a rough night for everyone. I've never actually had to be present after one of my pets actually died before. I've said goodbye before they were put down before, but it's not the same thing.
It's a lot harder this way. I can't imagine how awful it was for my sister's fiance, he was the one holding him when he died.
Lots and lots of was had, still did a bit today. I didn't think it'd hit me this hard, we KNEW he was getting old and were planning on putting him down soon, but it came up so sudden it surprised everyone.
In any case, digging through old pictures has helped too. It's best to remember him as the happy dog he was. And he was just about the happiest dog you could imagine too.
