You don't need the big expensive synths, though. As long as you can control the lowpass filter (or skream filter, if it has that) you can disable the attack/release envelopes and use automation to manually control your sounds. Look up a tutorial on automation, it's a real game-changer. :3
Listen to my dubstep tracks "Ectoplasm, pt. II", "Pensive", "Raiders on the Sand", and "Mongrel" on my SoundCloud (soundcloud.com/vincevolpyne) -- I made all my bass synths using stock plugins in FL Studio -- just basic oscillators piled with chorus, distortion, bitcrusher, and a lowpass filter with the "frequency" knob linked to an automation track. No fancy synthesizers, you just gotta know what you're doing :3
Thanks dude, but honestly, I cannot do anything because I am limited to only 8 instruments, 8 audio effects (including eqs) and 4 midi effects (which are useless) due to the fact I only have live lite currently. Not only that, I have only been given a limited supply of instruments and effects, meaning I have to replicate distortion on some tracks via a saturator, and chorus, which takes uses up some of my effects already.
