Young Red-Tailed Hawk Feather - Leather Bracelet
Yet another piece of leather jewelry inspired by my trip to the New York State Falconry Association meet. One of the falconers had a full juvenile red-tailed hawk tail for imping (repairing feathers), and it was just so beautiful, I had to create something based off of it!
This is hand-carved from 7-oz leather and painted with acrylics. It has a gunmetal chain and glass beads, and is fully adjustable for any size wrist.
I may experiment with different ways to attach the bracelet, such as woven leather, or different types of metal (sterling silver for people with metal allergies). These are pretty fun to make :3 And I'm going to be making them for different birds, too!
This is available in my Etsy shop - https://www.etsy.com/listing/114697.....k-tail-feather
