through the cold winter
wanting things to happen fast
but they go slowly
kneeling and looking
thoughts and hearts so far away
I must go to them
When I was a kid on rainy days when I was stuck inside the house, I used to kneel on the couch like this and look out the window. I would watch little lakes form in the lawn, turning a homogenous green dichondra jungle into an interesting land of islands and lakes.
Now, I am stuck where I live, wanting to join those I care aboot. I see not where I am at, but gaze into a far-away land.
