For the last two weeks I have been doing face studies. Just the basics, a sketch book, an eraser, a 3H, F, and 2B traditional pencil, and nothing more but a serious effort, and my demons screaming at me from the shadows trying to derail my confidence. No pens, no paint, no special papers, no computers; just the basics. This is one of several end results to date.
Originally, these drawings all started out as speed drawing exercises. This one remained so taking about 15-20 min to draw, the others became more involved (as you can see). This face said so much, and had so much story in such a young face; from "her" eyes to her broken nose. Though, I know nothing about her.
