The swamps and everglades tend to house an exotic plethora of unique herbs and remedies found nowhere else in the world, able to thrive in such conditions. Growing them is one thing. Retrieving them is another...
Vanessa, being an accomplished medical student and nurse, took some time off to search for some of these herbs, hoping to study them and possibly make their uses more wide spread.
Sadly though, the only dangers ever warned about are the ones people were able to walk away from or escape...
The "Weeping Death" as translated from the natives, is a tree with very few branches, and abnormally large roots around it. Such a disfigured shape makes it easy to assume reaching it's blossoms an easy task. However, to our knowledge, the "Weeping Death" is the only carnivorious tree, apart from it's flower-like counterparts. It's incredibly porous bark extrudes it's vicious sap at a rapid pace when touched by anything warm. The sap is only sticky for a short period of time when exposed to the air, easily constricting it's victim's feet in the first layer, and doing more so with each consecutive layer of sap, until the victim is firmly cemented, helpless to the slow and sinister digestive process to follow...
Will Vanessa manage to escape this terrifying fate? Or will her research, AND her body, wind up missing? *dramatic cliffhanger undertone*

I don't know if setting the tree on fire would help resolve the issue, or using a freezing spell would make it release her... would either work? o_O
Pyrus: We could use both you know.... -snaps his fingers and the tree is set on fire, and then freezes the area around the victim so that it doesn't "sense" that she is warm-
