“Howdy Folks and welcome to another exciting event of Golden Jaws. Tonight we got a new blood joining us as he takes on the champ Jon. So without further delay let’s get started,”
In one corner stood Jon Markson a brown and tan furred wolf standing at 6ft 7in wearing a brown sleeveless shirt with a pair of black and white shorts and black MMA gloves. Who was warming up with some shadow boxing.
Across from him was Decoy a young grey wolf standing at 5ft. wearing a pair of sand brown pants with a brown sash, sleeveless martial arts Gi and a brown mask with white bandages on his arms knuckle gauntlets. Who was right now only standing in the other corner in a meditative stance.
With a loud echoing ring, the first round had begun.
Walking out into the middle of the ring the two fighters circled one another as they waited for one of them to make the first move.
Without warning Decoy had made the first move by dashing towards the older wolf and tried to hit him with an uppercut.
Using his now uncovered hands, Jon blocked the hit with one hand while using the other to strike the pup in the chest, pushing back a few feet.
Rubbing the spot he was hit, Decoy quickly recovered from it and charged towards the wolf once more.
Watching the young wolf run towards him, Jon gave a mental sigh as he thought he had to show the kid the hard way that doing the same thing over again when it doesn’t work the first time isn’t a good idea.
Drawing his hand back to larger wolf threw a right cross towards Decoy but as soon as the punch was about to make contact. The young wolf suddenly leapt over the hit
and onto Jon’s arm just before landing a solid kick into his chin.
Dropping back a few steps Jon rubbed his sore chin a little as he saw the younger wolf ready himself for the next hit.
Nodding his head towards the young pup. Jon just grinned as he brought his hand up and gave the “bring it on” sign.
Giving a low growl Decoy charged towards the older wolf once more, ready to knock him to the ground but was surprised when he threw a punch to only have the wolf turn to the side and hit him with a haymaker punch.
As the punch connected with the pup, Jon couldn’t help but feel a twinge of remorse for Decoy.
From what he could remember when the young wolf came to the league he was probably the youngest person to join and from this most of the other competitors thought he would have been beaten long ago but somehow he had made it up the ranks and fought very well to.
But the one thing that stood out to the older wolf was that the pup was lonely. Not one single person in the league was willing to at least talk to him.
Thinking to himself Jon felt he had to make it up to the young fighter somehow but he would worry about that later for now he had a match to finish.
Dropping back a little the older wolf was pulled from his thoughts as he dodged a jump kick from Decoy.
As the young ninja landed he turned to look at his opponent just in time to dodge a left cross from the brown and tan canine.
Thinking that he was in the clear Decoy prepared to attack Jon’s side but was suddenly cut off by the older canine who in turn slammed him in the head with a couple of jabs.
“Gah,” Decoy shouted as he was suddenly hit with a heavy jab at the end of the combo.
Watching the pup fall back from the hit, Jon knew he had to finish this fast.
Launching himself towards the young wolf, he began to throw and hit the grey furred pup with punches that where moving as fast a blink of an eye.
With every hit the ninja was barely able to keep his baring as he was slammed in almost every direction possible.
What felt like hours when in fact it was only a few minute the young pup began to feel like he was about to black out when he noticed that the hail of punches had stopped.
Looking up weakly the young grey wolf saw Jon looking at him with sympathy as he cocked his hand back.
“I’m sorry,” was all Decoy heard the older wolf say just before Jon’s fist made contact with his face.
Watching the young fighter fall to the mat, Jon sighed to himself as he was thankful for both winning the match and for not having to hit the young man any more.
Raising his one of his hands in victory, the crowd cheered as their champion stood victories over his opponent but those cheers when unnoticed to Jon as he bent down towards the young wolf and took a hold of him and began to lift him up off of the mat.
All Decoy could see was darkness as he began to become conscience, from this he began to think that he had been eaten like most of the fighters that lost in the ring.
Suddenly he heard muffled voices around him.
“I.. gon… .use ome sme.. alts,” was all he heard when suddenly a strong smell assaulted his nose.
Snapping his eyes open the young wolf bolted up from his laying position to see Jon sitting beside him in a fold out chair still wearing the same thing he wore for the match.
“Easy kid, easy, you need to lie back down,” he said as he rested his hands on the panting wolf’s shoulders and eased him back down.
Taking a couple of deep breaths the young wolf looked around to see that he was lying on one of the benches in the locker room and was covered with a blanket along
with an ice pack that was now being replaced on his head.
“What happened?” he asked only to groan as he felt a headache come on.
“Sorry but you lost the match,” Jon replied as scratched the back of his head while he still felt remorse for hitting the young wolf so hard.
“But if I lost, then why am I not resting in your gut?” Decoy asked with a little anger, thinking that the older was toying with him.
“The reason why I didn’t was because I’ve been watching you for a while, mostly since you joined,” Jon replied as leaned back in his seat.
“Why,” Decoy asked while feeling a little creeped out that the older wolf had been doing that.
“Because I’ve seen how lonely you looked since you joined the league. So while we were fighting I felt like I need to make it up to you somehow,” Jon replied as he grinned at the idea he had in mind.
“And how do you plan to do that?” Decoy said as he began to wonder what the brown and tan wolf had in mind.
“Easy I plan on taking you under my wing,” Jon said as he grin grow large when he saw the young grey wolf’s eyes nearly bug out.
“You’re joking right,” Decoy said in shock as he sat up once more.
“Nope, I’m serious, so what do you say?” Jon said as he looked at the young pup.
Without warning the young grey wolf jumped up and hugged the brown and tan furred lupine with all of might.
“Thank you,” Decoy nearly shouted as he continued to hang onto the older wolf.
“Easy there. You’re welcome but before we can get started you need get some rest and recover, all right,” Jon said as he laid the pup back down.
“Alright and Jon,” Decoy said as he began to lie back down and fall asleep.
“Yeah Decoy?” Jon asked.
“Thank you,” Decoy muttered out just before falling asleep.
Letting out a deep breath, Jon just smiled as he watched the young wolf rest.
“You’re welcome Decoy,” Jon said as he leaned back in his seat once more and fell asleep with a small smile on his face.
