Well, I learned how to shade in art class years ago. xD Not the best at it.

I really like this one. Not only does the composition of the two characters look realistic as well as perfectly proportioned, it shows how far you've progressed in such a short time this year. I really enjoy Venice's outfit. The feel of the slacks and the visual addition of that pocket on his pants helps add to that vibe of "roughhousing"
Also, the shirts are loose and untucked. Venice's shirt/sweater reminds me of those scenes where he would be classified as the 'bully', but that can take many directions of view. The face of his character is one of lackluster interest and determination. He is giving that emotion of passive aggressive - where he will only start something unless provoked or he runs into a specific person(s) he does not agree with.
Now, your OC's attire is quite striking other than his. Your attire is fitting with your character, of course, and the pose is a dominant one. I really like the shirt on him. It is almost as if he is the main person who starts the troubles and gives that appearance of such dominance. He is the one who goes first is what I am trying to explain. The attitude in his eyes and facial features is telling me he is either about to get into a scuffle with someone, or his view is also one of lackluster interest. The pants are displayed perfectly to also match his regular attire, which is very interesting to see. It took a little bit to discriminate the shirt, from the pants because of his cloth around his waist. This was quickly resolved though once I saw a better view of the shirt and understood it was untucked.
His posture (your characters), is clearly offensive and ready to strike. It is almost as if he has a unexpectant frown underneathe his scarf. I would like to point out the scarf. It almost looks tightly coiled around his head, but that helps bring your eye to the main parts of the piece rather than the details. Which is interesting how it is portrayed regardless. His pants and shoes are perfectly shaded as well.
Well done!
