These are two characters belonging to the talented  windpaw whose work made me grow to apreciate, and then to love avians.

Here we have Evan the Bluejay and Timothy the Shrike in a moment together.
Evan is a bit emo, and it bothers his friend Timmy to see him moping around and missing out on so much of the joyful things around him.
Nuzzling up to his friend's breast, he pleads with him to "Cheer up Emo Bird!"

My original idea for this pic was a lot less emotional, but as the sketch progressed, I began to generate a genuine feeling for the characters and how deeply Timmy is hurt by his friend's mood.
And also how, despite his emo-attitude, Evan really does care for Timmy and hates to see him greive, especially on his behalf.

This is a touching little pic that I think turned out exceptionaly well (though Windpaw must get at least half the credit, since I used his pics for referance). I was so worried that I was going to botch it up that I scanned each pic at each stage of completion "just in case".
