Did you ever go nuts? I mean, really REALLY nuts? Well I did and this is proof.
I used to be a fairly big Aladdin fan ten or twelve years ago and I took it into my head to make a doll of one of the villains. Mozenrath by name. Pulled out all the stops, too. This boy is 30 inches high, has a hand-modeled Sculpey head, needle-sculpted hands made of felt (including the skeletal one hidden by his gauntlet) and his own felt flying eel. Cape and baldric are made from gold-figured black velvet lined with gilt plaisley calico and the tunic and trousers are blue satin.

The gauntlet was an artefact he stole from his master. It was what in D&D is called a "cursed item". Every time he used it, it took a bite out of him and eventually stripped the flesh off his arm.
A lot of fairly interesting fan fiction has been written about the mechanics of this curse. Whether he still had feeling in his arm, for instance. Or whether there were other areas of exposed bone. There was quite a bit of speculation about old Moz (Old? Right! He was supposed to be 19!) including a rumor that he was Aladdin's half-brother --Which would have been an interesting idea if they had gotten around to it.

The general scuttlebutt in fan fiction was that Mirage was Moz's mother. (His father was supposed to be Jafar.) And not being a motherly type, she dumped him on Destane. Moz's love interests ranged all over the map and included both Princess Jasmin and Aladdin, Sadira the street-rat/Sand Witch, a plethora of Mary Sues and the Belle of the Swell mermaid whose name I forget.
Almost reminds me of an idea I once had for an alternate Aladdin. Among the things that go on, is that Aladdin uses a wish to become a powerful sorcerer, he still has Jasmine, Abu gets some lines as he becomes Aladdin's familar similar to how Iago was Jafar's familiar and instead of a snake staff like Jafar had I gave Aladdin a jackal staff. Aladdin is still a hero at heart and uses his magic to help out and defend the people of Aggrabah.
I vaguely remember Mozenrath. But I had forgotten he had one dark hand and one light one -- if that's the case. He looked identical to Aladdin, otherwise, but never knew why that was -- perhaps I missed the episode he first appeared in? That's a series I'd love to have all X-number of seasons on DVD -- but in fact have none.
Moz had a skeletonized right hand which he wore a glove to cover. (See note to
cetas ) And he and Aladdin were not that similar in appearance. Al was buff and tanned. Moz was pale and skinny. Moz was also taller, had a larger more profoundly hooked nose and slanted eyes. About the only thing they had in common was hair-color. I always thought --possibly because of the glove-- that Moz was intended in some odd way to resemble Michael Jackson. The curly hair would be right, too, for the MJ of that period.

Now that you mention it, I remember the skeletalized hand. Although Moz was pales, and had a slightly more hookednose, they had the same pointy chin, same dark eyes and heavy eyebrows, mouths that were no noticeably different and similar hair. Since cartoon faces are simple constructions to begin with, the various points of similarity were enough for me to wonder if they were clones, long lost cousins or magically linked in some way.
Ran a doll business for about four years. Got crushed by the beanie craze that was going on at the time. When if comes to dolls, the public has no sense whatsoever. They will pay $600 for a mass-produced purple bear because it has a pink rose on its chest and $50 for a hand-made unicorn.
Then, of course, the beanie bubble burst and all these $600 bears were worth $6...

During the Beanie Baby insanity, I saw a beanie Unicorn... and I just had to buy it for her. She'd been muttering about the Beanies for months. I gave it to her and she said, "Charlie, I know why you got this for me, but I have to ask: How much did you pay for this?" I answered, "With tax, $6.35." She was okay with that.
