Here again we have two characters owned and created by the talented
windpaw - Evan the emo Bluejay and his friend Timothy the Shrike.
Timmy cares a great deal for his friend and is deeply hurt seeing him spend so much time moping about and missing out on the joys around him.
Moments ago, he once again pleaded with his friend to "Cheer up Emo Bird!" but could not himself restrain his tears.
Evan, deeply moved by his friend's concern and his own affection for the little shrike, enfolds his wings and tail around him and tells him that if it wasn't for the little bird's care and kindess, his life would be impossible.
When I started the previous pic, I had no intention of making a sequal. But as the first neared completion, I felt that I had to finish the story and give Evan a chance to console his companion and tell him how he means to him.
Now, this little scenario is something I came up with on my own and was not created or suggested by Windpaw. So his characters might not in actuality have this kind of relationship or personalities.
But I felt the desire to draw Timmy again along with his friend, and the rest just kind of blossomed.
This is the coloured version. The lineart version is available here: http://www.furaffinity.net/view/925391/

I like the way that you drew the birds here. The artwork strongly resembles Windpaw's style, and at first I thought it was him that made this and the other colored picture you posted when I saw them in the Eagle category. Speaking of which, you might want to put these pictures of the Blue Jay and Shrike in the Crow category, since Blue Jays are Corvids. Anyhow, nice work.
You're right about the Corvid classification. I didn't think about that at the time.
These pics I've been doing for Windpaw represent my first forays into avians, and since it was his work that got to appreciate them so much in the first place (and these are, after all, his characters) it's only natural that I should use his pics as visual aides as I work to develop my own style.
Thanks for the comment!
