After a couple of hours at the bar, it was clear that Gerri's date had stood her up. Depressed, Gerri figured that she was already in the right place to drown her sorrows, so she downed drink after drink until the room was a blur around her.
Several hours later, Gerri was wandering the rainy streets in a stupor. Suddenly she was shocked back to her senses as she stepped in a puddle--with only a stocking on her foot. As the cold water soaked through her already-moist hose, Gerri realized that not only could she not remember anything that happened in the last few hours, her left shoe was missing and she had no clue why.
