So... in a one on one battle between the two who wins?

Celestia: Pro: has wings and magical powers. She has an army and an air force (albeit inept). Technically she's responsible for making the sunrise but we never see that. Is said to show telekinetic powers.

Accomplishments: Partially responsible for the change in time of day. Partially responsible for the initial defeat of Discord.

Con: Hasn't ever defeated anyone on her own. Relies heavily on others to do the heavy lifting for her (especially since she isn't bound to the elements anymore).

Amalathia
Pro: Is immortal when in unicorn form. Is able to create a protective aura that prevents harm from coming to other animals. She can raise the dead. She has killed.

Accomplishments: Kept her woodland creatures safe from hunters. Killed Red Bull. Brought Lir back from the dead. Freed all Unicorns. Freed animals being held in captivity by a wizard at a carnival. She is responsible for the destruction of King Haggard's castle and his ultimate usurpation from the throne.

Con: Was made mortal briefly by her butterfly companion. Lacks an impressive rolling crew other than the Butterfly who seems to wield some solid magical abilities. Can be moody (understands love and regret).


So who wins?
In a one on one battle Amalathia wins. In her story she proves that she can resolve and win one on one conflicts including defeating the main villain(s). Celestia on the other hand is easily tricked and beaten without the aid of her student and her student's friends.

Now, if it were an all in type of thing where all the characters are going to brawl then Celestia's side would win if not by sheer numbers sheer skill (plus she does have a fair amount of unicorns on her side to start with).

I like MLP just fine its a great little show. How can I not like them? I have been drawing horses for years. Its just I like to throw abit of humor in it. Characters being antagonistic towards one another can be fun.
