This will be the next partial fursuit that we complete that will be up for sale!
We've always wanted to make apibble pitbull, and rather than make the stereotypical aggressive/badass kind, we wanted to make one that is cute and sweet. And "Pebble" will be no different! She will even have 3D follow-you-everywhere-and-love you eyes, too. c:
We'll be working on her inbetween commission work so she doesn't get in the way. I'll be sure to upload WIP images of her so you guys can witness the birth of adorableness! And, of course, be tempted to adopt her after she's born. <3

Oh wow yeah you did! D: We originally planned to build Pebble before AC this year, since the rescue of choice was for pitbulls and we like to donate a portion of our partial suit sales to the con charity (so we try to find a "theme" to match). But we didn't build it in time, despite mentioning it here on this account that we would have it ready in a journal I posted...5-6 months ago, I think. >>; Slackers! The 3D eyes have been finished for months, and we ordered a nose from DVC a while back, so we've just been slow in actually making her.
You'll probably finish yours before we finish ours, so I'm excited to see how a similar concept/coloration in your style turns out! And we actually have the same reference image you linked to in your journal saved in our "pitbull" folder that helped me design Pebble. Great minds think alike, it seems, and it'll be awesome to see more brown/white pitbulls running around! c:

I'd be interested in seeing it, since I've yet to see a bully suit that actually looked like the breed. One of the biggest issues I see people run into is head shape, as a defining part of the pit bull look is a square and wedge shaped head as opposed to a circular shaped one
That's actually why I made sure the concept art was a head-on frontal view for the head, so I could try and replicate the square-ish face shape they have. It's going to be tricky, especially after making so many other canines that have the typical wolf/husky longness to the face. We welcome the challenge, though! c:
Oooh.. though.. d'you think you could have her be natural eared, maybe?
As more pit bulls are natural than not.
(I rarely see pit bull costumes, so this is definitely intriguing.)
I will also toss this link at you, from the official APBT standard, for conformation/structure help!

Oh wow, thanks so much for that link, that'll certainly help when we start the sculpting process! I really want to try and get the "wedge" shape of the head with Pebble, as I've always seen it as such a defining characteristic of the breed.
And I'm not entirely sure what ear style we're going to go with. I believe I designed her with the cropped ears because it would be easier to identify her as a pitbull that way, since personally, I've seen more with ears like that than natural. I'll see how it goes and appreciate the suggestion! c:

They are a difficult breed to draw, which I've found to be true commissioning art of my own pit bull character.
Cropped ears are more commonly seen on the American Bully types (an out of standard hybrid of pit bull and other breeds), and the much less common American Staffordshire Terrier (they're mainly seen in the AKC showring , and not typically as regular pets).
I'm personally a fan of the natural ear, as the "rose" ear-set is another easily identifiable "trademark" of the breed, but as show dogs can be either or, it's up to you as to the route you go. :)

Plus, floppy ears give more 'character', especially if you're going the more cartoony route.

I agree with him, but it's because personally I am not one for ear cropping. I think that showing a natural ear-red pitbull character will be more true to the idea you have of creating a friendly pitbull character. The cropped ear tends to lend itself to the "toughness" factor of the dog, and the original purpose of ear cropping was so that dog's ears wouldn't get bitten off in dogfights.
I do also think that there are many more natural ear pits than cropped ear pits.
