This was off one storm that my mate and I intercepted on our way back home one night from downstate. This is the type of lightning that branches out over the sky (there was a lot of that with this storm). The trick is to start snapping pictures the moment it starts to spread because this kind generally moves fast. Pain in the tail, but worth it. :P

I would recommend the Canon brand, if you're seeking a good camera that takes excellent pictures. The Canon A3300 16-pixel digital camera would be a great one. :3
I'm using a Canon Powershot 1200 12-pixel digital camera. Good for getting the shot, but I'm looking to upgrade to the A3300 eventually. :3
