(For the Monkeys, Apes, Fruit bats, Parrots, and any other Fruit loving Furs)
**Medium Difficulty**May contain nuts. You decide!**
Serves 4 to 8
1 (9 in.) frozen Pie Shell
3 cups whole Milk
¾ cup white Sugar
1/3 cup all purpose Flour
¼ tsp Salt
3 egg Yolks, slightly beaten
2 Tbsp Butter
1 tsp Vanilla Extract
3 yellow Banana, not green or brown
(optional) Some sliced Almonds, and Whipped Cream for decoration
1) Bake Pie Shell according to the package’s instructions. Set aside.
2) In a large sauce pan on medium heat, simmer Milk, but do not let it boil.
3) In a mixing bowl, whisk together Flour, Sugar, and Salt. Then gradually combine dry mixture into milk, stirring continuously. Cook until thickened.
4) In a small bowl, stir in a small amount of Milk mixture into beaten Yolks. Repeat until thoroughly combined, then pour mixture back into Milk.
5) Cook milk and Egg mixture, stirring constantly until thickened.
6) Remove from heat and stir in butter and Vanilla Extract. Let sit until luke warm.
7) Slice bananas and place into prepared pie shell. Pour Milk mixture into pie pan over Bananas. Refrigerate pie until filling is firm. Decorate with Banana slices, Whipped Cream, and Almonds, and Enjoy!
Extra Info: If you don’t know what to do with the left over egg whites, you can use the left over Egg Whites to make a Meringue. Or, if you’re feeling guilty after eating so much pie, you can make yourself a low calorie Egg White Omelette for breakfast the next day!
You can prevent the Banana slices from browning by dunking them into orange juice.
When it comes to the Whipped cream, you can whip you own Cream and flavor it how you like, or take the easy route and buy a can of Whipped Cream. The can Whipped Cream tends to break down in the heat faster though. It's all up to you. Happy Eating!
