It's Grey cosplaying as Lenneth Valkyrie. I made the line-art for haloween... well, before halloween. Lots of people like to make 'halloweeny' looking pictures, I decided to just show what Grey would dress up as for said holiday, given that he has the hair for it. :9
Following the story of the game (which is mostly derived around Norse Mythology), the reason why the picture is dubbed 'Wings of the Reaper' is because in the game, Lenneth, or the image of the valkyrie, is seen somewhat as a 'reaper of souls'.
Whenever a fallen warrior succumbs to death on earth, if the valkyrie deems this soul an able one for Odin's cause to become one of the chosen Einherjar (Ein-heir-e-ar). She'll decend to earth to collect the soul and recruit the soldier to fight in the holy battle of the gods to prevent the coming of Ragnarok (the end of the world).
This is a nutshell description. The game pulls a lot of Norse mythology. A majority of facts in the game were true, and some were just taken artistic liberty. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Valkyr.....ofile:_Lenneth ~ Yet another Wiki reference. Scoll down a bit and this, for the most part, accurately depicts the correlation they used for the game and actual Norse Mythology (which I think is actually pretty damn cool)
But to further explain the picture. I originally had it where it was just going to be colored, but then I decided to make it into somewhat of a desktop image by adding the wings and feathers. As part of the game, whenever Lenneth entered battle, etheral wings would appear, flap and several feathers would fall from them. Upon hitting the ground, each feather would materialize into an Einherjar and fight on behalf of the Valkyrie.
So this picture, is somewhat the calm before the storm, where she's summoning several Einherjar through the feathers that are starting to fall towards the ground.
So from the looks of things... it's gonna be quite the battle.

:smiles: Thank you. I do love coloring my pieces, I just wish I had a lot more time to get through all the pieces I've drawn.
Slowly but surely. And hopefully soon I'll have a new computer/laptop/whathaveyou so I can do it almost everywhere, instead of having to wait for the family compy to be free.

I loved my decision to give him a braid when I first made him back in high school <3
Oh, but thanks for noticing the wings! ...it's actually the first time I tried drawing a set of wings -completely- from scratch without drawing them out prior.
It was kinda hard X3;

Guh, wings. One of my worst enemies in drawing. D;
My Kin used to be drawn with them all the time, but I decided to stop since I lacked the ability to even draw them, then I tried feathered wings a few times and could never get it, I guess I lack the patience to try to make them look any good. s:
*pets the braid xD;*

Just like when my teacher introduced our intro to drawing class to Stippling ( it's like pointalism, but we used sharpies and not paint X3 ) and after 10 minutes of the entire class trying to stipple a crank shaft that we were using for the still life we were supposed to draw, they all expressed their shere disgust for Stippling and portrayed such feelings through the words 'torture' and 'unfair'...
I, however, enjoyed it... I even started using two sharpies and both hands. I made so many enemies that day X3

Heh, I'd like to thank you for such kind words. In regards to the self-judgment, in a way it's just a means to keep me humble to my own work. I'd hate to be the guy who walks around, "Yup. My art is THE BEST" when someone can turn around and say "Well I'd like to disagree, and here's my 2 hour long, power-point presentation on how you should shut the hell up. Now I'll introduce you to a -REAL- artist."
I almost allowed my talent to get to my head, and the result wasn't pretty.
Don't look too much into it, my friend. It's not like I hate my work, I just merely poke fun at myself so that I further improve on the things that I believe need improvement. Sure, I may be good at a few things, but somewhere in this world, someone is better at it. With this in mind, I constantly strive to see what I can improve. It's why, if one pays close attention, they can see that my art can sometimes change dramatically, very quickly. Sometimes even from one picture to the next in the span of a few days.
But, sure there are other reasons... but I don't want to bore you and I'm not out to tell my life story. I just like talking... and to counteract that, I try to amuse people to disguise the fact that I'm boring them to death. X3
So I'd like to think that what I'm doing is healthy for my development ^^ In no way is it self-destructive in any way.

I' being completely honest when I say, you are NOT boring me to death. I love to listen to people.
And in regards to your work, there's a point when one can take their self-criticism to an extreme. Saying that one's own work is comparable to that of a Kindergartener, especially in your case, isn't even realistic. I try to be the same way, humble about my work, but you don't need to go walking around bashing yourself over the head, just be modest, quiet and recessed. In other words, kinda let the people come to you. Let your art do the talking.

:snickers: Thank you. It's all in good fun, really. Sometimes I do it just for laughs and I hardly think it's at my expense cause I don't really feel remorse.
I do appreciate your enthusiasm and concern in this matter.
Sometimes I feel as if my art is under appreciated... but in all honesty, I shouldn't even say that. For the volume of people who take joy in just looking over my work, I'm rather contempt.

YOUR POST HAS TOO MANY BAD LINKS!!
...and you just wanna be Lezard Valeth only to take advantage of meee!! D:
Love the PS intro... my favorite part of both that and the PSP version? The veeery end when Lenneth is with herself as a younger child, staring at each other in the flower field...
Geh, it's been so long I can't remember the name of the place for the life of me. But I know that those petals were poisonous to mortals. >:3 Das why Lucian, the boy in the PSP version who's standing there, almost died in that field when he visited Lenneth as a "mortal".
Fun times.

Thank you so much!
I tried my hardest to make wings out of scratch... the whole pic really wasn't planned out... I was coloring the main body, got a quarter of the way through it... stopped, increased the canvas size and everything else just sorta... well, happened.
I'm glad I colored it now instead of before. I would never have had this idea in mind.

:snickers: I do tend to have a problem 'overpronouncing' the muzzle for wolves for one specific reason. Many of my friends failed to find the difference between my wolves and foxes (I do more lineart than colored, so apart from the obvious color that would perfectly differ them, that's why they made that assumption) So to correct it, I tended to make the extreme size difference to stop it once and for all. x3
I'm still trying to find an easier way to show the difference. Then again, Grey's mouth in the picture is open a bit, else it would be a bit smaller, but I shall remember that and see if I can correct for future reference.
Thank you for your critique!
