"Now, lets get started, shall we?" Kawaii said, pointing the hot blade at the group of surprised marines. The furs looked at the foxcoon, and a few of them charged forward with their sabers. With a fiery spin, Kawaii cut down the charging men, leaving them unconscious; each one of them bearing a large burning slash wound on their chests or backs.
"Wow! That was awesome!" Axel exclaimed, his eyes wide and glinting like stars. "Oh, that was nothing. These guys are kinda weak." Kawaii replied, making more of the marines charge toward them in anger. The foxcoon raised his sword again, but Axel drew his blades faster. The tiger drew both of his katanas, then dashed through the group of charging marines, giving each fur multiple, electrifying slashes, leaving them paralyzed on the ground. "I'm not gonna let you have all the fun." Axel said, showing a small, fanged grin. "Ooh, a nitoryu* practicing cub. Interesting..." Kawaii remarked, as the remainder of the marines backed up in fear toward their leader. "L-L-Lieutenant Morgan! Help us! We can't beat these two!" The men shouted, severely angering their leader.
Morgan knocked one of his men to the ground, then shot him in the stomach with a pistol. "Attention marines! All of you who believe what this man just said, shoot yourselves in the head, now!! That's an order!!" Morgan roared at his soldires. The marines looked at each other with expressions of sadness and anger, before raising their firearms to their heads.
"Hey!! What the hell do you guys think you're doing?!!" Axel and Kawaii both shouted at the same time, making all the marines freeze. "Give me a boost!!" Axel shouted, sheathing his swords and running toward Kawaii. The foxcoon nodded, and sheathed his own sword back into the staff. Axel jumped onto the end of the staff, while Kawaii swung it, launching the tiger high into the air; his paw on his hat so it wouldn't go flying off. "Goro goro no..." Axel began, as he charged a ball of lightning in his free paw. "HOOK BARRAGE!!" the tiger shouted, as multiple ropes of electricity shot from his paw. Each lightning rope attached itself to one of the marines' guns, and Axel yanked upwards, snatching every single gun the marines were holding and flinging them high into the air. "Kawaii!!" Axel shouted.
"Got it!!" the foxcoon replied, while rapidly spinning his flaming staff. "Flare rocket!!" Kawaii shouted, swinging the flaming staff, sending a giant ball of fire up in the air, toward Axel. The tiger looked surprised, as the giant blast of fire approached him while he fell back to earth. However, the ball of fire missed him, instead flying into the mass of guns overhead, resulting in a large explosion that reduced the guns to ashes.
"Our...weapons..." one of the marines said, as he watched the ashes scatter in the wind. "You're welcome." Kawaii remarked, holding his staff over his shoulder, while Axel landed roughly few feet away from him. "You're NOT thanked." the tiger said, rubbing his sore bottom. The marines look of shock and disbelief gradually turned to relief and happiness, until their Lieutenant roared in anger. "ENOUGH OF THIS!!!" Morgan barged through the marines, knocking them out of his way, making his way toward Axel and Kawaii. The tiger looked up to his crewmate, and they each nodded to each other in a silent agreement. Axel drew his swords, while Kawaii began to spin his staff, igniting it once again. "Burning..." "Bolt..." Kawaii and Axel began, just as Morgan was within striking range.
In a flash of flame and sparks, Axel dashed forward and sliced, giving the Lieutenant a large 'X' shaped cut on his torso that electrocuted him; while Kawaii rushed the Lieutenant with his sword, simultaneously leaving a burning horizontal cut on his torso. "SLASH!!!" both furs shouted in unison. Lieutenant Morgan, electrocuted and burned, dropped to the ground, unconscious and utterly defeated.
Axel and Kawaii then turned their attention to the group of marines, who had just watched their boss get cut down, and raised their blades at them. "Anyone else?" Kawaii asked. The marines turned to face one another, then screamed in rejoice, throwing their remaining weapons to the ground. "Hurrah!! Lieutenant Morgan was defeated!! We're free!" the men shouted, while high fiveing and hugging one another.
While the marines celebrated, Axel and Kawaii sheathed their blades, then Kawaii bent down to highfive the tiger. "Nice job, swordsman." Axel said, tipping his straw hat. "Same to you, captain." the foxcoon replied.
"You, pirates!!" The group of marines shouted toward the two furs. Axel and Kawaii both turned around, as a few of the marines approached them. "Even though you did save our lives and the town, you are still pirates. I'm afraid we cannot allow you to stay here any longer." one of the officers spoke.
Kawaii looked down to the tiger, who had a slight look of worry on his face. "Hey, if you're a pirate, then you have a ship, right?" the foxcoon asked, making Axel shake his head. "Uh-uh. My boat, and all of my supplies got sunk in a whirlpool..." he replied solemnly. "What kind of supplies did you have?" the marine asked. "I had some meat, water and some clothes." the tiger replied.
As soon as Axel finished speaking, the marine turned around and pointed to HQ. "You heard him, men!! Food, water and clothes for our saviors!!" he shouted. The group of marines saluted him, then disappeared into the building, returning a few minutes later with barrels of food, water and clothing. However, the biggest surprise was when the marines escorted the two down to the dock, and loaded the supplies onto a small boat. Axel and Kawaii ran to the boat and jumped in, waving back to the marines. "Thank you guys so much!" Axel shouted, as Kawaii raised the sail. The marines said nothing, and saluted the duo, as they sailed off into the sea.
The two pirates aimlessly sailed out on the sea for days, quickly exhausting their supply food, and most of the tiger's diapers that the marines had luckily thrown in the barrel. Both furs laid on the floor of the boat, nearly passed out from hunger. "Soo hungry..." Kawaii moaned, his stomach growling loudly as he did so. "Me too...why can't you catch us some fish...?" Axel panted in reply.
"Because you dropped our fishing rod into the sea!!" Kawaii shouted, giving the tiger a bop to the head. "Well I couldn't go and get it out of the water! I ate a devil fruit**! I can't swim!" Axel shouted in reply, growling at the swordsman. "Why are you yelling at me?! I ate a devil fruit too!!" Kawaii shouted back into Axel's face. The two sat for a moment, growling in each other's faces, until both of their stomachs growled, ending the argument as both furs laid back down on the floor.
“Food...” Axel mumbled. “I know...I know...but saying it isn’t going to make any appear.” Kawaii replied. Suddenly, Axel sprang up, with all of his claws extended, and a bit of drool dripping from the manic grin on his face. "FOOD!!" He rawred, making Kawaii glance up to him. "You bite me, and I'm throwing you into the sea." The foxcoon threatened.
Instead of attacking him, Axel shot a lightning hook straight up into the air, at what appeared to be a seagull. "Ooh, good eye Axel! Reel it in and I can roast it for us--" The foxcoon was cut short as he saw his captain begin to lose contact with the boat, being pulled upwards by the bird. "What the hell are you doing?!" Kawaii shouted, jumping up just in time to grab the tiger's legs before he was carried off.
Their little boat began to get swiftly dragged across the sea from the bird, which Axel refused to release. "Axel!! Let go of the bird!! It's pulling our boat!!" Kawaii shouted. "FOOD!!!" Axel rawred in reply, holding tight to his lightning rope. The bird dragged their boat for miles and miles, eventually crashing the boat on the shore of an island.
Upon hitting the shore, the boat flipped, launching the two furs onto the sandy beach. Axel's lightning rope dissipated from the shock, freeing the bird, and the tiger's would be lunch. "...food..." Axel mumbled, spitting grains of sand out of his mouth. The tiger, half buried in sand, looked around, and noticed the tall sand pile next to him. "Kawaii? Are you in there?" He asked, poking the sand pile. The pile of sand began to heat up rapidly, until it became glass and exploded, revealing a rather angry foxcoon. Kawaii glared down to the tiger, who looked up to him with a nervous smile. "The...the bird got away..." Axel stammered, as Kawaii picked him up and put him back down, freeing his legs from the sand.
"Thanks! Now let's go get some food!" The tiger said, turning around to dash off toward the village in the distance. However, before he could even get one step away, Kawaii grabbed him by the back of his vest, preventing him from going anywhere. "Not so fast." "Kawaii...what are you doing...? Aren't you hungry too?" Axel said, trying to escape. The foxcoon spun the tiger around, and looked him directly in his face, making Axel sigh in defeat. "Alright, alright, I'm sorry I crashed us on the shore, I didn't mean to and it'll never happen again. Now c'mon! Let's go eat!" Axel said. "There ya go." Kawaii let go of the tiger's vest, and the two went running off to the village.
The two furs wandered through the village, seeing many other furs rushing about, as if they were in some sort of panic. "What's going on here?" Kawaii thought aloud. "Who cares! I want food!" Axel replied, running into the first restaurant that he saw. Kawaii looked up to the sign reading Cocoyashi Grill, then walked inside after his captain. Inside, the small restaurant was completely deserted, except for the orange female cat behind the bar counter. "Hey, lady!! We're hungry!" Axel shouted, making the foxcoon hit the tiger's head. "Don't be so rude, Axel!" Kawaii yelled, while the girl chuckled and walked over to the two boys.
"Oh, don't worry about it, he's fine." she said, crouching down and patting the tiger's hat covered head. Instead of reacting positively, Axel backed away from her, his paws on his straw hat. "Hey, don't touch my hat!" he said, growling slightly. "Oh? Is it important to you?" She asked. Axel nodded. "It's my treasure." The cat chuckled a bit, then stood back up. "Alright little boy, I won't touch your hat anymore. Now, what did you guys come in here for?" She asked, turning her attention to Kawaii.
"We want to order some food...we haven't eaten in days..." Kawaii replied, making the cat raise her eyebrow in confusion. "Really?? You actually have spare beli* to spend? You're either really rich, or you've given up living." She said, before taking the two to a booth and walking away toward the kitchen. "What do you think she meant by--" Kawaii's words got caught in his throat as he started to laugh at Axel, whose ears and hat were only visible above the table. "This is not funny." the tiger said, crossing his arms in annoyance and embarrassment.
The cat returned after a few minutes, and noticed the upset tiger. "Oh, sorry lil guy. I forgot you might have trouble reaching the table." She said, bringing over a booster seat for him to sit in. "Anyway, my name's Nojiko, and I'll be serving you today. So whaddya want?" she asked. "Um...I'll have the takoyaki and some pasta." Kawaii said, making the cat sigh. "You...you're not from around here are you?" she asked. "No, we were at sea, until my captain crashed us into the shore." Kawaii said, making Axel smile nervously again. "Well, anyway, there's a few things you should know. One, you can't eat any seafood. Two, make sure you can pay your tributes. And three, never, ever oppose the fishmen, no matter what." Nojiko warned, confusing the foxcoon.
"Fishmen? Who are the fishmen--" "Who cares?! I'm hungry! Bring me ribs and grape juice!" Axel interrupted, slamming his paws on the table. "Fine. Bring me a pizza and some red wine." Kawaii said, making the cat return to the kitchen. Eventually, Nojiko returned, carrying two large platters of food, and two mugs filled to the brim. "Enjoy, boys." the cat said, walking off once again. The two wasted no time in devouring their food, finishing their plates within a matter of minutes. "Alright, now that we ate, we can do our toast." Axel said, raising up his mug. "A toast, to new adventures, new nakama* and to dreams." The two clinked their mugs together, then chugged the mugs empty.
Immediately after tasting it, Kawaii knew something was off. "Huh...that didn't taste like wine...it tasted more like--" the foxcoon froze up when he looked over to Axel and noticed the faces he was making. "That was kinda bitter." the tiger said, sticking out his tongue. Kawaii's jaw hit the ground when he realized what had happened, "What?" Axel asked, to which Kawaii shook his head. "N-nothing! Nothing at all!" he replied quickly. Kawaii quickly put the beli down on the table, and dragged the tiger out of the restaurant with him.
However, just before they could exit the door, a person slammed the door open, knocking Kawaii and Axel to the ground. The man was about 6 and a half feet in height, blue, and had a large fin extruding from his back. The man also had webbed hands and feet, along with gills on his neck. "Eh? Who are you? Never seen you around before." he asked.
Kawaii stood up, and dusted himself off, trying to restrain himself from punching the man in the face. "Um...my name is Kawaii, and this..." the foxcoon motioned down to the tiger, who he expected to introduce himself, but no such thing occurred. "...I feel funny..." Axel mumbled, while he stared absentmindedly at his paws. "Er...this is Axel." Kawaii finished, picking the tiger up from the ground.
"Whatever, I don't care anymore." the man said, pushing past them and walking toward Nojiko. "Hey, cat, where's my money?" the fishman demanded. Nojiko walked to her register, and took out a stack of bills and handed them to the fishman, who quickly looked at it, and glared down to the girl. "Hey, what kind of crap are you trying to pull, huh?! This isn't even half of your expected payment!" he yelled. "Well, nobody can afford to dine out anymore, so--"
Nojiko was interrupted by the hand of the fishman striking her face, sending her to the floor in pain. "What were you about to say, girl? I don't think I heard you right." the fishman said, letting out a large, sadistic laugh. Kawaii set the drunken Axel down, and took his staff out of its holster on his back. "Oh, so you want some to?" the fishman asked, only getting a murderous glare from the foxcoon.
Kawaii and the fishman began to walk closer and closer to each other, each one ready to go in for the kill. However, before they could reach each other, Axel managed to stumble into the fishman's path. "Eh? Get out of here, stupid brat!!" the fishman yelled, looking into the tiger's dazed, half open eyes. The fishman, annoyed, grabbed the front of Axel's vest and lifted him into the air. "What, are you ignoring me!?" he yelled again.
The tiger tilted his head upwards, staring blankly at the ceiling, while small, green sparks started to arc from his body. "W-what is this?!" the fishman shouted, as more and more sparks appeared. After a few seconds, Axel burped; releasing thousands of volts of lightning into the fishman, who fell to the floor, smoldering and unconscious. Kawaii ran over and caught the tiger before he hit the ground, who in return hiccuped and fell asleep.
"Y-you IDIOTS!!!" Nojiko shouted, standing up, her cheek slightly bruised. "Idiots? How? We just saved you!" Kawaii replied. "You didn't save me, you've killed everyone! Now the fishmen are gonna leave Arlong Park and attack the village!! And all because of you two!" she screamed. The foxcoon didn't say anything, and merely carried his sleeping companion toward the door. "Well, then that settles it. We're going to Arlong Park."
