Asking questions is good! Its the best way to learn! And what I do (a tip i picked up from 
touchofsnow) is I make sure my lineart layer is a "linework" layer (it has the ballpoint pen on the icon). Then I set my stabalizer (in the upper righthand corner) up to s-2- s-5 depending on how straight or loose i want my linework to be. Then it's just a matter of being patient and using cntrl+z alot. Also, by holding down ctrl in the linework layer you have little dots (like with the pen tool on photoshop) that you can use to move your line and straighten out lumpiness if need be.
