Irruptive Traveler
I got the lucky chance to see a small flock of four Pine Grosbeaks ( Pinicola enucleator ) in a small berry-laden tree on campus earlier today - females and/or immature males - and had to paint one to capture the moment. I know this is probably out of whack, but hey - I only went from memory and my Peterson field guide on this one. I will never know if I'll see these beautiful, calm individuals ever again, but damn, was it ever magical.

I was intentionally giving this image a very neutral palette to implement the new knowledge I had learned from my Color Theory course. I hope to include saturation more frequently in future images, however! Thank you for your comment, and I am glad to hear that you enjoy my work. : ) Cheers!
