So I've had this done for a long while. As you can see, the main intention was to make this my icon for here. I'll just briefly explain each step and the day that I finished them, just for the simplicity of that:
Step 1: (Sketching By Pencil) This was finished in March 17th if I recall. Nothing more I have to say, except that I used a mechanical pencil right there. xP
Step 2: (Tracing with Paint.NET) This was complete by June 9th. Basically what I did was take advantage of the use of the "Line/Curve" Tool, and to be quite honest, that worked out rather well. Oh yeah, I won't forget the basics of tracing traditional art, which is simply creating a new layer, put it overtop of the sketch, and then, after being done with the tediousness of tracing with the "Line/Curve" Tool, simply filling the rest of the picture with White....Yeah, it's not as simple as you think, since you might have to make your lines small sometimes, fill in some lines, like I did on the center of the eye, stuff like that. But in the end, you find that it's all worth it. ^.^
Step 3: (Coloring Sketch w/ Color Pencil) Sorry, I don't have the date for this. I must've saved this part the same time that I saved Step 4. =x Anyway, I, again, have nothing more to say. This was just done on some colored pencils that I, apparently, have had since I was in the first years of Elementary School, believe it or not. Just wanted to add that little bit of information. o.O;
Step 4: (Coloring Tracing w/ Paint.NET) So this was finished on July 6th. Coloring this wasn't that easy, actually. I had to make boundary lines so I could make filling in easier. I did a couple gradients just for the fun of it, that's basically all I need to say that I did there. ^.^
Okie, so I will give major props to the program Paint.NET, simply since this definately wasn't possible without it. X3; I highly recommend this for those who DO NOT want spend the price of a PS3 just for Photoshop. Then again, people do get Photoshop for FREE somehow, but I'll let you figure out how for yourself. xP;
So yeah, I look forward to using these 4 steps for the character bios that I'm planning on making in the future. *nod* If anyone is even watching me now, you can feel free to comment on this. Thanks for checking this out! ε:
