Well, I'm in college now. For music composition. And as it turns out, we have this cool little event each year called the Unprepared Concert. For this concert, each composer is paired with [a] performer(s) and given 24 hours to write a piece for that person/those persons. Then, the performers are given 24 hours to prepare the piece for the recital on Sunday afternoon.
I signed up as a composer and I got somewhat of an odd assignment. The guy I was paired with is known around the studio for being an amazing guitar player, but also on the sheet was "and/or Oboe." I asked if he had a sampler (he said he did), and things just took off.
