Final commission for
hida! Another Skyrim themed pic. As Pyra relaxes and scans the landscape, she notices a little critter squirming under her butt!!! X3 I up-scaled Hida for this pic compared to the last one so he wouldn't look too small in this composition.
This pic kind of drove me nuts, so many light sources. But it was fun to practice landscape painting! I used an under-painting technique for this piece. Overall lots of experimentation :)

I had that same problem a long time ago. It had something to do with the physical monitor color calibration messing with the graphics color calibration. For some reason, PS wasnt affected, but if I opened the image online or in a random image preview program, it would change. Really annoyed me. I cant say how I fixed it, since I really dont remember, but try searching along those lines.

I'm not sure that this image being dark is necessarily a bad thing; while I may not have seen the "lighter" rendition of this, I can say it works quite well as it is. The dusky twilight purples, soft orange and pink glow in the clouds, all while displaying a deep midnight littered with countless stars, I am honestly surprised there's a lighter version of this image and am curious as to how different it is, for as I said before, the darkness almost seems to work better!
I wonder how he can be be comfortable being pinned under someone wearing chainmail and armor.
Anyway, this is a classic, from Pyralis' sudden surprise-angry look to the design and shining highlighs of her sword and armor, to the beautiful, unbeleveable amount of detail to the winter-like background (so beautiful and realistic I feel a wintery freeze over me from staring at it) and the effects of the fires in Pyra's hair, tailbrush and Hida's own fire, Pyra's sitting pose while holding her sword, the mist, stars... everything is excellent.
