Just to prove I'm not dead! Exams are FINALLY over (thank fuck) and I'm on the ball again.
This is the design I made for the Queer Space at RMIT University in Melbourne. They used the robot unicorn for a lot of the ad material but because it's copyrighted I was asked if I could come up with something similar. And this happened.
Named after the Greek goddess, Astarte was connected with fertility, sexuality, and war. Her symbols were the lion, the horse, the sphinx, the dove, and a star within a circle indicating the planet Venus. My intention was to illustrate Astarte as an androgynous, gender ambiguous anthropomorphic unicorn. I think it turn out alright.
