A single Battleship moves
Slowly through the waves - as
If leading the sad souls of
Heroes scattered over the
Pacific to their final
Resting place.
Someday, the smell of
Blastpowder burned into the
Steel hull will fade away,
But for now the men slowly
Inhale it along with the
Pleasant smell of the salty
Brine.
Far off on the horizon,
The rising sun welcomes them
To a new day with arms of
Outstretched rays.
They have left behind
Uncertainty and fear, and
Soak up the warm sunlight
Reflected in the waves.
Their hearts, are now
Unburdened, and every breath
They take is filled with
Hope. Promises of peace on
Every tongue; the war is
Over.
Friends, your life, your
Sacrifice, will not go to
Waste.
Dear Friends, I will
Protect your memories, your
Courage and hope.
May this be my vow. May
The sun burning bright on
The horizon serve as my
Witness.
For those of us who
Survived, it’s the least we
Can do.

Hey man. Thanks for faving my self-portrait in 88th Div outfit. Feel free to bug me ;) I hate Commies, Fascists and Islamists (not Muslim) but I am not going to hate someone for their ancestry or religious belief. That would turn me into what I hate and vow to fight against..
Even though the Imperial Japanese Navy is on the opposing side, the IJN has my respect. Especially the fact that there are many people in IJN with incredible integrity as service men and normal human beings. One of them I immediately think of is Admiral Inoue Shigeyoshi 海軍大将井上成美. Simply put, the man defied the order of firing on civilians during Battle of Shanghai and took a lot of flaks from the IJA. Admiral Inoue was also against the idea of Kamikaze attack that only prolong the war and get more young Japanese killed. This person's view of life is model military man who truly put the interest of people and nation in front. Even that means he may get killed by army fanatics (I am aware the coup de tat of the mid 20s?)
Another IJN personnel i thought of is the Japanese Red Baron, Sakai Saburou. This man is a legend and true Samurai of the Sky that i shouldn't need to say much about him here.

Come to think about it, Navy folks tends to be far lesser fanatic and more clear headed then their Army counterparts. I think it may have something to do with the mentality of being seafarers who see the world a lot.
By the way, the name Arisaka sounds familiar. That is the Japanese bolt action rifle during WW2 right? I recall veterans from RoC side mentioned that the enemies rifle has longer blade & barrel (longer than Allies and our Kar98K) that it
