They kind of did for the first versions, actually. Then I guess people complained so they made them more "pretty" (except they gave them a stupid expression - or rather no expression at all since they're always stuck snarling). I would have been happier with a mix of the old and new versions.
That's really personal taste though. You speak as if your opinion is the only one that matters and every design should be that way. :P I'm not bi so it's based on purely aesthetics, but I prefer them more human like. I'd like them the other way too anyway, but then they would be "cool" rather than "sexy - like Charr.
