This is an illustration that I did for a story by Will Sanborn. In this scene, a male student finds himself at a school of Rrakith. Being the only human can make one feel ill at ease, but after an encounter in gym class, he begins to make a friend.

You know, I'm not entirely sure how old the story is - I would have to ask Will Sanborn, the author.
This image is new, but there was another image drawn by Bernard Doove that illustrated the same part of the story, and it looks similar to the top part of the image, with the two facing off against one another. It may have been in SFL. =)

This piece is really spectacular. On the emotional level, I love the parts in the lower left. The depiction of a budding friendship is really touching.
On the more technical side, what jumps out at me most is the shading, especially on her tail. Mind if I ask how you did that?
