I know the feeling when it comes to this stuff and also the crazy english stuff as well @_@ A lot of things I wonder why they teach when all you need to know is the main basics for just about everything you need unless your going to be a scince person messing with liquids and all..

yeah I'm sure there is a job out there somewhere that you would need to apply this, but in normal life I don't think you will even need to use it.

cute, thats easy math thou, and man there are so many uses for two by two equations, I use them alot in college mainly for solveing Statics for Beam design :) Hehe so yep yep there is a real world use for those.

I always caught myself thinking the same thing. I'm yet to have been proven wrong. I am still in high school, but i've had 2 jobs since my last math class and only the most outrageously basic math skills ever came in handy.

I;m sure there is alot I can use this in I just couldn't think of what at the time :D

Heh, this is a question everyone asks themselves. The answer I can come up with, however, is that this information will be very useful for when you either...

A) Have kids and need to help them on their homework
or
B) You plan on becoming a math teacher. x3

well I don't really want kids and I don't plan on being a math teatcher XD

All that stuff has a myriad of uses, as I'm sure you're well aware. I use that stuff and more, frequently... but I'm a physicist. The problem is that most people never encounter those uses in their career. Generally, a huge proportion of what you learn in school you will never actually use, but the tricky thing is, for each individual person, the piece of schooling they do end up using is different. I happened to end up using that bit. But I don't use any of the poetry I studied in English classes back in school, for example.

Education systems these days are trying to cram more and more stuff from further specialised areas. An alternative idea I've heard is that they should do the basics quickly, and then give choices to younger kids to specialise. This would give them a chance to follow what they enjoy (avoid what they don't) and get knowledge of their chosen area sooner. Problem is, how many young kids actually have a clue what it is they want to do for a career?

yeah I always thought thats what they where doing. I mean I'm sure there will be a few times in life when this will be handy. Math just isn't my thing ^^; I would hane never guessed you to be a physicist :P maybe if I have some trouble whit my math I could come to you for help hehe ^^;

Its funny, it used to just be a doodle now and then, to almost every page of high school notes, to every other page in basic military training, to every page/ note in tech school, and now I am doing sketches on post and doing work for my squadron during my off time.
