Diana Harlan Stein is always good for some creative ideas. At this year's Midwest FurFest, I had her draw my fennec fox pyromancer Silara, and Diana quickly got some neat ideas behind this pic that she shared with me, which really got my creative juices going.
I really like the Native American theme and the use of phoenix feathers, and Diana captured Silara's mischievous nature by having her swiping the shaman's medicine bag, all perfectly fitting Silara ^_^ The phoenix feathers in particular had her mentioning how interesting it might be if Silara herself was associated with a phoenix in some way, perhaps if the mythical bird's ashes got mixed up with her body before they were reborn into a new phoenix. Amazingly, something like that could definitely be utilized within Silara's backstory, as there are elements which would match a situation like that quite well! It gave me some ideas to ponder...
