She was the wicked despot of the mushroom kingdom in a parallel universe. Until the people rose up and overthrew her with the help of the heroic king Bowzer. Forced to flee through a warp pipe, she lands in another mushroom kingdom totally different from the one she came from. So she decided if she couldn’t have her old kingdom this one would do nicely. But, before she can begin her grab for control, she must first get rid of her sweet, goodie goodie counterpart.
