Seems helpful! I don't draw many comics, but this will be helpful if/when I do. Have you ever made a tutorial on the actual comic book boxes? I never know what I should do! Just boxes is stupid, I always wanted to do those cool shaped boxes, and have cool placement, but I just don't know how!
Why do you duplicate the bubble layer?
Pro tip: If you change the outline to "inside" instead of "outside" it makes the tail of the bubble look better and more pointy. Also you should always watch that you have at least one letter's width of space between the bubble and the text so it doesn't look crowded :)
