My ship’s seduced by the sound of sirens
Lining up along the shore
Still drawn in towards the rocky peril
There voices as their only lure
Only yards away, I start to shake
I see my tomb tower over the sea
Casting a shadow that seems to go miles
No God tonight to hear my plea
I fear my friends, this tragic ending
I never could force the ship from the sand
What is a sanction for others, who’s vocals rang
Was my resting place, so far from land
Just something I wrote. It's based off of Greek mythology. Siren's were women who lured sailors to their deaths by attracting them to the rocks using beautiful, melodic singing voices... Ironically, the Sirens turned out to really be Sea-Lions. Hmmm... I guess sailing for days on end makes you delusional.
I think it's a great metaphor for falling and love and ending up being hurt. Let's just say, for the sake of character, that I'm the sailor. I hope you enjoyed this submission. :3
