Here is a simple layout for the average Burrow Wolf. I have had these critters since litterally around 2nd grade. This is the first time I have ever shown them publically on the internet.
Burrow Wolves live undergound in well..burrows. They have large paws that are excellent for digging, and not much else. Therefore they spend most of their time undergound. The only ones who venture outside are the warriors, and sometimes the alpha male and female.
Their pack structure is fairly similair to that of real wolves. They do not like other Burrow Wolves. If a clan was to invade their territory a war would insue. The loosing clan would therefore turn over their burrows, and the workers would then join the two together making even larger clan. The old alpha male and female would be killed publically for all to see. They are a savage clan. The surviors of the old clan would most likly become workers.
The types of Burrow Wolves are (and keep in mind this is an average clan..clans who have joined up with one or more clans would have more) :
Alpha Male/Female (only one of each) The leaders of the clan. They make sure that the roudy animals stay under control. If tested for their leadership a fight to the death will insue.
Warriors (about 10) They hunt, and ward off others. They are esstial to the clan;s survival.
Teachers (about 5) The teachers are there for well..teaching. They teach the young pups the ways of the clan.
Guards (about 5) Guards make sure that the works are kept in line. There is even a jail quarder in their dens that is secured for unrulely animals.
Workers (about 30) Workers make up the most of the clan. They are either outcast, or unruly members. Perhaps members of other clans as well. Their sole duty is to dig the ground to make the homes for the wolves. While these memebers are the lowest in pack order the clan depends upong them just as much as the warriors for survial.
Burrow Wolves can come in any earthen color(s) they do not have to follow that chart at all. Just keep a similair lay out with spotty patterns and some white and you should be good.
Females are larger than males.
Pups do not get their large teeth untill about 3 years old. It is a sign of adult hood.
There coat is extreemly thick and long( 3 layers). Them living underground it gets extreemly cold there. So their massive coat is well needed.
