Hum, maybe I'll have to find a new person to reference for it to double check.
Yup, Cajun frnech is Louisiana! Which is where Alette and Beau are from c: The population that speaks it is pretty small now, mostly older, and is dwindling now; it has also a tendency to incorporate a lot of english (and sometimes spanish).

Interesting a living language then, just what French is not. On wikipédia you can find this:
"Cajun French, or Louisiana French, should be considered a continuum with normative French with Louisiana vocabulary and expressions at one end and creolized Louisiana French at the other;"
If normatiave French is a basis then I suppose the vocabulary is too but maybe I'm being picky. If you want a French speaker to have a dubble check, I'd like to help :)

It's really amazing to listen to Cajun and Creole people in Louisiana, they're just constantly switching between language and vocabulary.
That would be awesome if you could! I know pretty much no French and the last thing I'd want to do is misrepresent it. It would be super helpful. I'm gonna see if I can also find one or two other Cajun French speaking people on the internet this week to get some translations, but I don't know how easy a find that'll be. I really just need to visit Louisiana and ask someone myself, haha.
