Gloriously golden crumble on top with sweet soft salacious apples below this crumble could be your next dessert delight from the kitchens of
carme-wolf
This is my nan's recipe, she taught me how to make it when I was little and i've loved it ever since.. :)
And with a little extra sprinkle of Nostalgia <3
Serves: 6
Pre heat oven to 160 degrees C
6 granny smith (or cooking apples) peeled cored and sliced
250g caster sugar
200g plain flour
120g butter
Ground cinnamon
Once the apples have been thinly sliced, chuck them into your ceramic roasting dish/ casserole dish spread them out a bit all over and add a teaspoon of water. Cover the apples in half a cup of caster sugar and some ground cinnamon.
In a bowl, mix the flour sugar and butter (room temp and diced is better) with your fingers until you get a breadcrummy texture and cover the apple slices in the mixture. Add some extra cinnamon ontop to taste, just a spread sprinkling :)
Put in the oven for a half hour or until golden brown :)
Serve with custard or single cream
Bon appetite!
