Matthew is a fiery tempered, very self confident wolf. When he was a pup, he found that his saliva contained toxic levels of Mercury, which strangely had no effect on him, but effectively poisoned whoever he bit and killed them within a few days. He was the first to be recruited by Jason because of his ill-temper toward humans due to the fact that a family he had wanted to befriend had tried to kill him upon finding out he was a wolf. He was more than happy to join Jason and ate up his lies about the world being against them, and that they had been chosen by fate to create the world's largest pack and wipe out the human race, leaving wolves to be the dominant species on the planet. His only grievance about joining Jason was becoming his bitch whenever he feels the need and there isn't a suitable female around for the taking.
