A work in progress of an illustration for my art history class. I still have to add some more tones and a background but I`ll be handing in this version as is with my essay that is due tomorrow. I plan to finish this for my boyfriend, Phil. He wants it
The objective of this project was to contemporize a piece of artwork from the prehistoric times to the renaissance.
As you may have noticed, I chose Sandro Botticelli`s Birth Venus. In order to contemporize it, I drew myself as the greek goddess of love, venus. Her elegant pose remains, and I focused on Venus herself, disregarding the rest of the image. I also kept her anatomy the same as the original, so it would be more recognizable and emphasize mannerism.

I love her expression, i love the detailed flowing hair, the skin medium and tones, the details. How angelic she/you looks, this is amazing work from an artist who has shown to be very wise with her creations, through her creations.
