Children of the Tundra
A mother arctic fox watches her young kits as they play among the snow and lichen of the tundra.
I love it when I get these random inspirations and just go hard at a piece for several hours/a couple of days. I just really needed to get this piece on paper, and it was fun to experiment only using watercolor and mechanical pencil for some texture.
This will be in the Further Confusion 2013 art show!

Aww-somely adorable!
I'd expect babies that small to still be in brown or gray fur. Vulpes lagopus is the only fox that changes colors with the season.
Babies in July
Another baby in summer
By six months, they look pretty grown up!
...But who cares about accuracy when there's cuteness to be had?
