The Ladies Man Killer
I was drinking my coffee at the local coffee shop when I picked up the newspaper and looked at the headlines. “Serial Attacker Strikes Again, another young girl was found last night drained of her soul.” I immediately tossed out my coffee and left. For several years now it has been my self appointed quest to find this madman who has been destroying the lives of many innocent women. I know who has been doing it. Unfortunately he has an uncanny ability to leave no trail. We went to high school together. I was almost a victim of his charms, I got out with minimal scathing. That is how he gets his victims. He uses his charm and appearance. He knows how the female mind works and uses it to his advantage. When he is done with one of his victims he leaves her with nothing but a broken heart and no soul. He feeds off of their souls and their broken hearts. This has been going on for years. Detectives try to solve it, but they never come close. He is too good. Always has been. I am the only one to have survived. Now he just pisses me off and fuels my anger. And he angers me more easily than the hulk. We were once the best of friends. He had me fooled that he was the good guy. That is why it angers me, because I didn’t see it coming. Betraying me is a worse sin than the seven deadly ones. When I find him, and I will, I will destroy him.
I ran to the woods and went down the path that leads the way to my secret lair. In my lair there are weights and gym equipment in one room and in the next room there is a giant computer screen that has access to any and all satellites that I use to try and track Niro Zutar. Unfortunately he has an uncanny ability to stay off the radar. I need to change my tactics. His attacks are getting more frequent. For the sake of all women out there that have yet to fall under his spell, I must stop him even if it’s the last thing I do.
I paced in front of the computer monitor. I must be overlooking something. I glanced up at the monitor. Then I went to my stack of newspapers and added today’s to it. Suddenly an idea came to mind. I grabbed a few of the newspapers and read where each victim was attacked. I pulled a map up onto the computer and entered in each place. They were all near each other. So he doesn’t stray from the region. Why didn’t I think of this before? I worked out until nightfall and began my preparations.
When I emerged from my lab I was decked out in black cargo pants and black long sleeve shirt. I pulled out my cellphone and called my friend to meet me at the location and hung up. I ran to the spot where I told her to meet. I was there awhile before she got there, which was the plan. I hid behind a bush in the park. Five minutes later my friend Shelly appeared looking around for me. Not seeing me, she pulled her phone out and dialed. Almost instantly a masculine figure came out of the shadows. Niro. Instinctively my hand went to the butt of the pistol in the holster around my waist. Crouching, I waited for an ideal moment.
“Are you looking for someone? Because I found who you were looking for.” He whispered into Shelly’s ear from behind.
Instantly she melted into his arms. Silent as a mouse I pulled the gun out and removed the safety and pulled the slide and aimed. Almost as if he sensed it, he calmly walked away. Shelly followed as if attached by an invisible string. Without thinking I fired at him. The bullet hit his thigh and he stumbled and fell to the ground. I rushed out from behind my bush and ran to them. I shoved Shelly away as she bent down to see if he was ok.
“Shelly, this is the serial killer that has been in the news so often. Get out of here, he’s dangerous.” I shouted at her as I pulled out handcuffs and cuffed his wrists together.
She gasped as she turned to run.
“No, my sweet Seashell, stay here. Help me as I help you.” His tone was sugary sweet, too sweet for my liking.
However it was just the right thing for him to say, because Shelly lit up like a bonfire and obeyed. Her hands reached for my throat but I ducked and tripped her.
“I’m sorry Shelly, but this is for your own good.” I said as I pressed a pressure point that knocked her unconscious.
Once she was safe I turned my attention back to Niro. He was looking at me like a snake eyeing prey.
“It’s been awhile Jane Fox. How have you been? Break any hearts lately?” There was no ounce of charm in his tone this time.
That made me laugh. “That’s funny especially coming from someone as vile as you. They call you the heartbreak-kid.”
“Fair enough, I have been on a very bad road for the past several years. Even before you came along I have been. There, I admitted it. Will you let me go?” He pleaded with innocent puppy eyes.
“At least you know what you are. But you won’t get me to do anything by talking sweet. I want you dead.” I pulled my gun out again and aimed it at him.
“My charm may not work on you. But I have something that you will probably want.” He grinned knowingly.
I raised an eyebrow. “And what would that be?”
“All the hearts and souls of the ones I have abducted. They have been kept intact. All in jars on shelves.” He looked triumphant.
I lowered the gun. “Show me where they are.”
He stood up without using his cuffed hands. He stood a foot above me. An attempt at intimidate me. I didn’t flinch. He couldn’t do anything to me. I am immune to his efforts. I have to thank him for that. I shoved him and he started walking in what I hoped was the direction of his hideout.
After several minutes of blissful silence he spoke, “So what have you been up to these past several years since we graduated?”
“Keep talking and I’ll gag you. I don’t want to hear your voice.” I spat.
“Worried that you will be like the rest huh? I understand. Even you can’t resist me, some of the time. Until you somehow got out of my clutches. How did you do that anyway?” He asked.
I shrugged. “I have no idea. Now shut it.”
True to my word I put a gag in his mouth. The rest of the way went on in a slightly awkward silence. His question spawned the painful memories. I didn’t lie when I said I don’t know how I escaped him. I really don’t. If I can figure out how I did it I can help the rest of the population of women. However, if all goes according to plan he will be dead and any future attacks will never happen as far as I am alive. He may not be the first nor the last, but until my final breath I will protect my kind from the men that go through women like tissue paper.
Nearly an hour later they arrived at the mouth of a cave in the middle of the woods. It was hidden by bramble and leaves. I took the gag out of his mouth and he smirked. Silently he led the way inside. In the entry hallway there were jars of souls from floor to ceiling.
“How many souls have you taken?” I asked aghast.
“A few hundred. And they were all worth it.” He said pleased with his accomplishment.
“How could anyone do something so monstrous? Why would you do that?” I exclaimed.
He shrugged. “It gives me great pleasure to watch them suffer without realizing they are suffering.”
“Spoken like a true psychopath.” I stated.
“And if I am a psychopath?” He queried.
I smiled. “It gives me more reason to kill you.”
He frowned for a second before smirking. “The first thing I do to my victims is get them into my cave. Then I get down to business.”
I thought about that for a second. Realization dawned on me. Instantly I pulled out my gun and roundhouse kicked the back of his head. He did a face plant and I put my knee in the center of his back, ensuring he couldn’t move.
“If you think that you can full any funny business on me, you have another think coming. Give me a reason not to shoot you right now.” I snarled.
“I have no good reason why you shouldn’t shoot me, but if you really wanted to kill me why haven’t you done it yet?” His muffled voice asked.
I fired a shot next to his ear. “That was a warning shot.”
“If you really wanted to kill me you would have already. Without any warning shots. You must have missed me since we went out.”
I laughed. “We never went out. You were always dating someone else. You broke my heart by ignoring me. Actually I would like to thank you because that unveiled your true colors; you are a true monster in every sense of the word. But that is not why I am biding your time. I intend to make this slow and painful. You will no longer be able to hurt anyone. You are a womanizer. You are a parasite. You are many things, but innocent doesn’t even come close. And because of what you are is why I am here to kill you. I let you live so you could lead me to the treasure. Innocent girls’ souls will be returned. And no more will be taken. At least from you that is. No one is going to miss you once you are dead. You are a little piece of shit that is about to get cleaned up for good. Farewell Niro Zutar. It was terrible knowing you. I am going to do to you what you did to your victims”
I spun him over so I could see his agony when I make the final blow. His eyes were filled with dread while his mouth was quirked up in amusement. I put my handgun down and put my hands on his chest. I started rubbing his chest slowly, a massage pace. Then I bent down and kissed his evil lips, letting my hands start to unbutton his shirt. Passion flowed through my veins, mixing with my anger and rage.
His lips were perfectly sinful and his mouth was sweet like his words. When I took his shirt off all I could see was every schoolgirl’s dream. Even though he was still handcuffed and I was on top of him he was kissing back very intensely. I stopped kissing his lips so my tongue could explore his now exposed chest. I could hear him asking for more and telling me what to do. I however was on my own agenda. While my tongue explored above the belt my hands started to undo his pants. Once his member was free from his pants my mouth covered and started sucking it like a bottle.
Shortly after that I undid the fly of my pants and yanked them down and straddled his body. “Do you want this Niro? If you want it then nod twice.”
He did as I asked and put my mouth on his as I directed my slick entrance to his erected penis. Up and down I went on his pole and in and out of his mouth my tongue darted. I could tell by his eyes that he was lost in the heat of the act. However, I was not. I was completely in control of the situation. My hands went to his chest and started massaging again. Then I stopped, but he wasn’t paying attention. I kept riding him as the blade slid to my hands. His eye caught the gleam of the knife and he stopped reacting to my thrusts and kisses. Naturally I stopped also. I stood up and put my pants back on.
After I was fully dressed I resumed sitting on him. “I hoped you enjoyed it as much as I am about to enjoy this.”
With that I put the tip of the blade on his chest and I sliced deep into his flesh from his sternum all the way down to his belly button. Instantly blood started to spew from the gash.
“Stop Jane! Don’t do it! Please!” He begged while he was still conscious.
“Now look who is singing a different tune. Here you thought I wouldn’t go through. You should never underestimate your adversary. Goodbye Niro. I hope you enjoy Hell.” I plunged my hand into his mediastinum and ripped out his heart. Out of my pant pocket I took out a vial and put it underneath as his essence dripped from his heart. His was black. The ones on the shelves were white.
Smiling triumphantly, his heart in one hand and his soul in my pocket, I stepped away from the corpse that was draining itself of its blood reserves. I stepped outside of the cave and found a bunch of wood and made a pile. Once there was a decent pile of wood I pulled a match out of another pocket and lit the pile on fire. I took the vial out of the pocket and held up his no longer beating heart. First I tossed the flask into the fire and moved away as it caused a brief flare-up and went back to normal. Then I dropped the heart without remorse and walked back to the cave to retrieve the innocent souls. With each jar I opened, a white splotch floated toward the sky.
I closed down my laboratory and settled down after that. Every now and then I would look at an old yearbook from high school and think back to that day. Shelly hasn’t told anyone what happened. I made her promise. There are many people in this world like him. He was the only one I had a vendetta for. My peace has been made, and am I glad it has.
