Well we have seen that pegasus can use there wings for doing some finger like actions. As far as Earth ponies go in the latest episode it is shown that they can posses some type of magic.

That being said know tinker he probably engineered the tabs to be easily accessible with a hoof so you would not have to use a mouth to change a diaper. I am thinking the tab landing strip is basically the second side of the glue bonding. So when the tabs are laid down on them the glue agent bonds with the binder on the tabs. This makes it easy to apply but to remove it would just be perforated sides that tear away much like pullups. Hell the bonding agent on the landing strip could be used when rolling it up to making sure everything stays inside.

I think you're taking all this WAY too seriously. It's a cartoon. Logic is not entirely required. Still, it's as good a hypothesis as any.

but back to the issue at hand. The diapers may need a little fine tuning because they lack a few nice features. Like what if you need to retape? Or how does the bonding agent hold up to liquids. These are all problems that a certain inventor pony could probably find solutions for. Oh there will be bumps along the way. Like what if before the tear strips were added he found the bonding was a little to good and mindset had... Issues getting it off or the sides were made to fragile and ended up giving way over longer periods of time like sleep or play.

On a side note I love your tumble. When I finish the picture I am on right now I would like to draw a new mindset and tinker picture. I have a idea about a cute picture on the train.
