Here's the backstory:

Twilight woke up in the middle of the night, to the sound of her number one assistant's scream of terror. She was instantly awake, and looked around in the room. Spike was sitting in his basket, eyes wide with terror and wet with tears. He looked up to the unicorn, and said with a shaky voice:
"I... had a bad dream, Twilight..."
"C'mere, Spike, don't worry." Then the odor of dragon urine hit her. "Just one thing before we go back to sleep. Let me put this on you." She levitated one of the diapers - that remained from the time Spike was an even littler baby dragon - from one of the wardrobes.
"Awwww... Oh well." The dragon accepted grumpily, waited for the pony to diaper him, then snuggled next to her and fell asleep almost instantly.

Well, I only heard about these diapers, and this was the first pic I found of it.
And yeah, padded Spike is a rarity, but he looks adorable.

I'll admit I've not always been that enthusiastic for Spike, but he's steadily been growing on me of late. Seeing Twilight take on the role of his mommy seems so right for both of them, and makes me realize how cute the little guy really is. :3
