Hi everyone,
This 30 second piece is for
interstella for commissioning
rainbowfoxy.
Here's a description of the song from it's Soundcloud page:This song turned out differently than I originally thought it would. I was going to use just 8-bit sounds using Magical8BitPlug (http://www.ymck.net/magical8bitplug/index.html) to make sort of a retro sound (like, 8-bit retro game sound) but I also decided to add some horns and extra synths to make it sound like something you'd find in a mid 90's platformer.
The whole song consists of about a 15 second jazz doohickey, repeated another time with variation. There's a big finish at the end with a nice dominant seventh chord, glissandos, and big booming horns and even an organ! Press Start!
The commissioner wanted it to sound "happy" but "rough like electronic". Jazz naturally sounds more "rough" than straight chords so I thought making this sound like a retro, jazzy platformer would fit the bill just fine. I hope it satisfied your requests :3
By the way, this took forever to master because of the big finish at the end; it was clipping. So I had to take about two hours to try to equal the levels where the general song would sound loud while having the ending not clip. >_<
Anyways, enjoy!
Made in Logic Pro
Make sure to check out my Soundcloud page and listen, favorite, and share the music on there! :3
Thanks,
- Aidan
