An epic, 2-part battle begins in this chapter! Spoilers below...

As everyone lets their guards down, thinking the adventures are over, Mephiles snags the purple Time Stone and shoots Sonic in the back! (the bastard!) Iblis is freed, and combines with Mephiles to form everyone's worst nightmare, Solaris!

Now, it's up to Sonic's friends to collect the scattered Chaos Emeralds to save Sonic, while the GeneX stars split up to find the Time Stones! Is it too late to stop Solaris? What sinister trouble is Fera planning? Will I ever stop spouting spoilers!?! Um... OK, I'll stop now.

I was sure on a roll today. No interruptions or long scenes from the game could stop me! Bwahahahaha!! Still, I always hate when ALL my characters get together. It's hard for me to write for a large group, and I have to interrupt various feuds and squabbles to get the story moving. Oh well, I think I pulled it off well enough...
