The chorus effect seemed kinda funky, it sounded like you were singing into a fan, which I admit is fun to do!
I like the effect of going from unison to harmony to octaves. Something the voice can do to great effect, not all instruments can get away with that! I think that's why gregorian chant is so appealing to listen to.
