Fiona wanted to let Santa Claws know she has plenty of toys already...and she'd rather something a bit less than optimal for a Christmas present so someone can have what she was going to get.

ffft, it's £9.20 for a 50kg bag here. A reallllly big lump of coal is mebbe 800g worth so that makes it worth...

1kg would be 92000/50 which is £1.84 so 800g would be uh £1.78ish or $2.85
heck a bag of chocolate coins is worth more then that, and much more tasty too!!

Actually diamonds are abundant enough to where every man, woman and child in the US could have a cup full. The real reason they're so expensive is because the DeBeers Group mines about 80% of the world's diamonds and they deliberately limit the supply to keep the price high (monopoly power and all that.)
Well what a nice little girl she is being doing that and just wanting to see someone else have a happy Christmas...However yes coal is so dirty and messy and the power company's need it more than her so she should go with something else X3
