Usually, the sword that is angled down on the hip has the blade side of the sword facing the ground. And also, swords areusually trained with the right foot foward so as to keep it right handed, unless she's left handed?

It totally depended on the person's status on how the swords had to be worn (upwards or downwards).
As for the side - I figured that it works better for me to carry them like this, even if I'm right handed.

Using my left for drawing and speed allows me to use my right hand for the controlling part what makes me more flexible and therefore makes up for the small loss of speed. ^_^
