After that they notice that he came out of the envelope he vreate an other dimesion in the envelope and wait in it until they opened his letter . So Uncle Red isn't their real Uncle he was just the best friend from their Father and also his ex-boyfriend befor their father met their mother. Although he isn't blood related to them he loves them very much.
