I'll have them at FC...I might consider it after that but I'm not really in a good position to mail things out at this point in my life.

When's FC? Also, I can't really afford to travel either..... Perhaps you could do a mail-out to accompany a comic or something, piggy-back style?

But seriously, Rukis' book, the comics you two have worked on, and this print are now my biggest goals for art-stuffs.

Beautiful lion! :) It's cool that you're painting with regard to visual focus, and I'm interested to see the rest of the painting now. I do hope you used a brush of sorts for his mane, or did you paint it all with a small hard brush?

small hard brush. You'd be able to see a pattern if there was a brush used!

Oh wow, so that took a long time! The effort certainly paid off, his mane looks incredibly realistic. As to noticing a pattern, I try to use brushes intelligently by painting over with some details afterwards to differentiate areas and avoid that "totally used a brush here and it's so obvious" feel. It's worked well in the past when I've tried it but I've been sticking to mostly default brushes right now to improve my fundamentals.

Both of those are very smart. I'm just not so good with brushes, I usually stick to hard round unless its somewhere nobody is looking.

you're certainly achieving amazing results with that method! I know where to look for any brushes you may use now, too. :)
