This is really cute and I love how traditional it looks, it suits Bulbasaur's earthy nature.
The only thing you've done differently from the original design is straightened out his legs and well... given him a neck XD They started to draw Bulbasaur a little less scrunched up anyway, so I think this is a step further they took in the right direction.
Think about it, if you live in a forest you do not want to be dragging your belly across the ground!

He's hard to get right D: You did fabulously though!
The only difference in design is that bulbasaur seems to be based on more of a stubby-toad shape than you've got here. He looks mammalian the way you've got him standing up straight and given him a neck -- just subtract the neck and make his limbs more toadlike (but with thicker legs) and it'd help c:
